A Study On The Strategies Of Tourism Development In Yichang

The study focuses on the development of the tourism industry of YiChang. Guided by some professional theories such as theory of tourism industry, theory of destination, theory of regional tourism cooperation and theory of sustainable tourism development, the study analyzes the foundations and advantages of YiChang’s tourism industry, points the problems which exist during the development, finds out the reason why there are problems, then proposes some advice and solutions in order to promote the development of YiChang’s tourism industry. Aiming at solving the problems of low comprehensive benefit, incomplete industrial system, unsound management system of the core scenic, loose cooperation of the three gorges’ region and weak competitiveness during the development of YiChang’s tourism industry, firstly the study advices tourism industry should change the pure tourism industry into the complex industry, transfer from number expansion to quality improvement, change the transition site into the destination. Secondly, the three gorges should be made the objective during the development of YiChang’s tourism industry. The government should dominants the industry’s development through guiding the marketing, resources integration to make the tourism industry’s characteristics obvious. Meanwhile, they should know the importance of resources sharing, cooperation, protection and sustainable development. Thirdly, tourism industry should play the important role in market recourse allocation under the guide of local government. Finally, according to the international standards of destination service, the authorities should focus on tourism products upgrade, urban tourism foundational promotion, tourism enterprise cultivation, culture integration, destination marketing cooperation among the three gorges’ region. Then, make the useful measures to integrate the recourses of the three gorges’ region, build the top tourism product, improve the development environment, cultivate leading tourism enterprises and construct the mechanism of the regional cooperation. Those measures will effectively promote the upgrade of tourism elements’ transformation, extend the tourism industry chain, prolong the tourists’ stay and will finally promote the management and service level, promote tourism industry’s comprehensive competitiveness, and turn tourism industry into the strategic leading industry of YiChang.
