According to the statistical data of theeconomic growth in China, the manufacturing industry of Gansu province in GDP hasbeen greater importance. Therefore, the study about manufacturing agglomeration andthe correlation between the manufacturing agglomeration and economic growth ofGansu province has the vital significance.In this article, the problems what we mainly dedicated to solving: from2005years to2009years, the general circumstances about manufacturing industrialagglomeration of Gansu province? What the correlation between manufacturingagglomeration and economic growth of Gansu province? And what the correlationbetween the manufacturing agglomeration of those with the regional economic growthis actively or negatively related to the present? In order to answer the questions morecomprehensive, and the content of the paper we made the following schedule:First of all, chapter is introduction. We through describe current manufacturingindustry and the economic development situation of Gansu province, and draw out themain issues; Based on the introduction, The main content of the chapter is atheoretical analysis about produce economic effect of the manufacturing industrialagglomeration may, and the relationship between manufacturing industry agglomeration and regional economic growth; We mainly select21industry ofmanufacturing from2005years to2009years in Gansu province as research samples,and use the index about Herfindahl Hirschman and the EG Index which Zhang Hui(2007) revised to calculated the degrees about manufacturing industry agglomerationof Gansu province. And we made the corresponding comparative analysis about themeasure of manufacturing industry agglomeration. Lastly, we mainly inspect therelationship between the manufacturing industry agglomeration and the economicgrowth of Gansu province, based on which, we also analyzed the correlation betweenthe manufacturing industry agglomerations of Gansu province.The results showed that on the one hand, according to the H index and EG indexcalculate result of correction, basically have has the industrial geographicconcentration and the tendency of further equalization; From the time spanperspective, as a whole the manufacturing industry agglomeration decreased and tendto be stable in Gansu province, According to the standard about the industrialagglomeration which of H index and EG index. on the whole, there are manymanufacturing already have a certain characteristics of industry agglomeration, suchas external economy of scale, the height of the division of labor and cooperationknowledge spillovers, etc.; However, the present economic development Gansuprovince the specific form to see, its economic growth has not produced formanufacturing agglomeration that brings the economic effect. On the other hand, themanufacturing industries that show clear positive and negative relationship betweenthe manufacturing agglomeration and the economic growth of Gansu province aresome traditional industries and some resources industries. And those relationshipsabout agglomeration between the manufacturing industries show clear correlation,that is to say, the manufacturing industries that the agglomerations show obviouscorrelation which have the significant relationships for the economic growth of Gansuprovince.
