As a building materials supplier of steel structure, BBS Company alwaysfaces an embarrassing conflict of market prices and enterprise cost in fiercemarket competition. Many traditional problems bring difficulties formanufacturing enterprises, such as delayed feedback, inefficient response,over stock etc.As a steel structure project contractor, BBS Company should compete inthe market with its unique technique, qualified service and better reputation.Above all, good budget of a project is a more important way to ensure greatinvestment for steel structure enterprises.The article takes actual situation of BBS Company as research objects. Itanalyses present situation of operation management and finds out severalproblems of project budget especially, such as high operation managementcost, unclear marketing position, failure brand marketing, high productioncost etc. According to ERP management and philosophy, the issue gives sometargeted suggestions: for example, strengthening market segments, improve marketing staffs’ qualities, increasing brand awareness, strengtheninginformation communication, reinforcing strategic alliance building, promotingcomprehensive competitiveness. Then the article studies on engineeringquantity list method and regression analysis method in steel structure costbudget of BBS Company and points out problems in budget. Based on thestudy, it suggests a way to determining project budget on critical factors byusing ERP supply chain management thought. In addition, the articlecombined with examples demonstrates the feasibility of using critical factorsmethod in project budget. Finally, a few improvement measures in operationmanagement of BBS Company are proposed.Above all, the study has general reference and meaning in steel structuremanufacture.
