The Research Of Urbanization Development Quality Of Jiangsu Province

Urbanization development is a universal and international problem, which is one of the hotspots that government departments and academics are very concerned. Under the raising influence ofglobal economic integration and urbanization, as one of the most developed province of China, thequality of urbanization of Jiangsu Province is very important. This paper discusses and analyzes theprocess, patterns and barriers of development of urbanization of Jiangsu Province from populationdevelopment, economic development, resident’s living, landscape environment and infrastructurebased on the definition and connotation of urbanization and urbanization quality, and obtains someworth learning countermeasures and suggestions which has certain theoretical and practicalsignificance for the enhancement of urbanization quality of Jiangsu Province. Related researchresults follows as:(1)During2001-2010, urbanization quality of Jiangsu Province has been a lot of upgrading, buteach subsystem played different role at different stage which shows that the fast development ofurbanization and economy has the greatest influence on the urbanization quality when landscape,environment, and infrastructure quality has the lowest contribution to urbanization quality.(2)By contributing flexibility analysis, although the quality of population development had thegreatest influence on the overall urbanization quality of Jiangsu Province from2001to2010, and itstill plays a leading role in the short term, but its status is gradually declining. The contribution rateof quality of economic development, resident’s living, infrastructure and landscape showed anincreasing trend year after year. Over the decades, due to natural environment, economy, history,geographical location, and policy reasons, it is very common that the score of urbanization quality ofSouth Jiangsu was better than Central Jiangsu and Central Jiangsu was better North Jiangsu. Thoseareas which composite score are more than the provincial average is mostly along the Yangtze Riverand Taihu Lake region.(3)Based on the calculation of barriers, it would be found that the main reason for the lowurbanization quality of Jiangsu Province includes: serious environmental problems, low coordinateddevelopment level of urban and rural economy, low structural optimization level of population, urbanization quality of most cities in the middle and lower level, and great differences betweenurban and rural. With Grey Correlation obtained: quality of landscape and economic is the biggestobstacle in the next5years.The paper is expected to provide not only some references to the development of JiangsuProvince, but also to other provinces.
