With the increasing competition in the market, it is very important for modern enterprises to enhance the technical innovation ability, reduce the cost, so as to enhance their competitiveness and obtain long-term development in market environment. How to reduce the production cost is the most important thing for Carrier to survive in the market which has many domestic brands with low price strategy. According to market feedback, the huge number loss of customers of Carrier is caused by its price disadvantage. For example, the price of Carrier’s FCU is about30%higher than the price of domestic brands, if the price can be reduced by10%, and be coupled with its own brand advantage, Carrier Corp will become more competitive.FCU (fan coiling unit) is the important component of central air-conditioning system. It is also the very indispensable link in the whole system’s production line. In order to reduce manufacturing costs and achieve the target of enhancing the competitiveness, also considering with all the aspects such as the features of FCU, the combination of company culture and the market conditions, the production process of Carrier Corp is optimized and recombined by through the way of project management.The project management which is about the restruction of FCU production lines is discussed in this paper. It is focus on market demand. Firstly, the status and industry background of Carrier Corp is introduced in this paper, and then make an explanation of the objectives, content and ideas of this research. Secondly, on the basis of the Carrier Corp’s internal conditions and external competitive environment, make an analysis of current production line and the existing problems, combine with the situation of high price of raw materials, it is demonstrated that only through the restructuring of product lines and lower costs by improving manufacturing method, so as to reduce sales cost of product. It also describes some significant problems of the production line. The third step is focus on the restructuring of the production lines, introducing the necessity of restructuring and the feasibility of the program technically and financial feasibility in Carrier Corp’s production lines. Carrier Corp has the advantages of a brand, service and quality, so the restructuring of production lines which is fit for market development is imperative.The technical solutions is pointed out by team and simulated the effect of restructuring by using the computational simulation technology of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Analyze program’s shortcomings together with experts, and try their best to solve problems during the design step. After the technical plan was finalized, it starts to make the investment budget, analyze the project payback period of investment and profitability capacity of restructuring project by financial indicators. The fourth step is through management control of the organization, schedule, cost and quality in implementation of the project, so as to make it successful and beneficial. It is the best way for manufacturing enterprises to adopt the project and entity personnel seamless team-building methods. It is reasonable to achieve quality control and schedule management through a variety of standard specifications. It is the most simple and effective method for enterprises to use risk list for risk management. Finally, in order to do a good job in the restructuring of production line and make project management perfect, the analysis and evaluation of project result from some aspects, such as project objectives, project implementation process and the economic effects.Nowadays, the project management is still in a relatively awkward position in the manufacturing enterprise. On the one hand, it should face the pressure of achieve project objective set by corporate executives. On the other hand, it has to face difficulties such as lack of resources. Therefore, a successful implementation of projects in enterprise is not only to use the usual project management, but also to emphasize management’s commitment and attention, as well as the team’s harmony, the appropriate staff incentives, accurate and timely information feedback, careful planning and ensure the implementation of resource.
