Engineering project is a combination process of production and consumption, with the feature, the long last time, vast investment, complicated internal structure and broad external relationship. Going forward step by step, there are many uncertainties in the construction project. The uncertainties make risks occur, which usually do harm to the implement of projects. It is urgent to apply risk management to engineering project. Nowadays, the study of risk management has become a hot issue in project management field.This thesis will follow the traditional risk management system in term of risk identification, risk evaluation, risk disposal and risk monitoring. Through the object of the Baosteel stainless steel welded pipe project, some project management tools such as Question Investigate, expert’s marking methods are used. All the potential project risk factors are identified. This thesis appraise the change of market, cost time limit, safety, which can impact the target of the project. This thesis analyzes the risks of the project. Besides, the reply, supervision and control of risks are also discussed.Firstly, this paper introduces the background of the project briefly. It is much necessary to study the project risk.Secondly, the paper systematically introduces the theory of engineering project risk management. This paper discusses the identification, estimate, evaluation, reply, supervision and control of risks, and tries to make the risk management systemize.Thirdly, based on the identification of the Baosteel stainless steel welded pipe project, the estimate and evaluation of the project are offered effectively. The measures, which include establishing the procedure of risk management and keeping away the accomplishment risk, the market risk, the produce risk and the finances risk, are also recommended to decrease and prevent the risks.Lastly, we draw the conclusion that t the control of the Baosteel stainless steel welded pipe project risks should be strengthened.The studv here may have some directinu and referring functions for managing the investment risks of iron-steel construction projects in the future.
