Report On TPCT Strategic Planning And Implementation Plans

TPCT is a joint venture, by Tianjin Port and Singapore’s PSA International Private Ltd., specialized in international container terminal operations. TPCT is located in so far the largest and highest degree of openness in China’s Free Trade Zone-Dongjiang Bonded Port of the Tianjin Binhai New Area. It is the area’s first modern international container terminal.In this paper, I have applied the SWOT analysis using TPCT as a case study. Through the analysis of TPCT’s internal and external environment, and in the midst of the ever changing environment, to formulate and identify the four key elements towards a successful business strategy:external opportunities (O), external threats (T), internal strengths (S), internal weaknesses (W), to help companies determine their business strategy targets.This paper consists of the following four parts:Summary of business strategy and SWOT analysis of TPCT constitutes the first part.This organizational structure from the TPCT settings, hardware status, terminal management systems and information technology, operating conditions were analyzed. The second part is analysis of local and overseas container terminals" experiences. Comprehensive analysis of container terminals, which focus over the full range of enterprise development strategies to enhance overall strength of ports, systematic regulation of the internal management system, and diversify the market to start operating space. The third part is TPCT strategic development framework.According to the environment in which the TPCT operates and learning from the experience of other container terminal business, to determine the "strategy guiding principle""development of strategic principles""strategic goal" and the "Main ideas of TPCT strategic". TPCT strategic implementation planning is the forth part of this paper.Deal with the problem of software and hardware, to deploy in full the "free trade" function of the Dongjiang Bonded Port Area; making full use of the Dongjiang Bonded Zone related policies and systems, to develop into a business with innovation capability and core competitiveness, with accuracy, precision and agile characteristics of the Nation’s first-class container terminal.Close to achieving "world-class container terminal" goals.In today’s global economic integration, to the enterprise, in order to survive and develop, we must break the traditional boundaries, industry, corporate limited thinking. This paper uses systematic science, economics, management, control theory and a variety of optimization idea, combined with local and overseas container industry’s management theory, methods and various conclusions from the SWOT analysis to assess TPCT in a systematic way.
