A Study Of IT Strategy Planning And Implementation Guarantees Of Regional Commercial Banks

With economy globalization, domestic financial opening and reform, the commercial banks are coping with various challenges from domestic and global market. Commercial banks are constantly focusing on operation reform and business innovation, IT is not only regard as background assistant system, but backbone system supporting business innovation, management innovation and architecture innovation, commercial banks demand IT with high capability to fulfill the requirements from the fast growing market, supporting and even guiding business innovation.This dissertation presents a pilot study in the IT strategy planning and guarantee methods of implementation for regional commercial banks. This dissertation starts with development and current state of IT in the rural commercial bank of City Y, based on IT primary theories and modules, and presents IT strategy planning and guarantees of implementation for the rural commercial bank of City Y, with expectations to help the rural commercial bank of City Y and similar regional banks to construct more flexible, elastic and expandable IT system utilizing the mainstream technique and mature programme.In this dissertation, IT development and current state of commercial bank of city Y and similar problems among regional banks are summed up first, followed by discusses of operation environment faced by city Y bank, competitive trend and developing trend among leading retail banks, with conclusions about business strategy targets, strategic policy and core-competitiveness of business development for city Y bank. Afterwards, current IT developing state is analysed in depth, the key issues are concluded. Based on gap between business strategy targets and current IT state, IT architecture and primary coverage of IT systems are discussed, Furthermore, route chart, implementing phase and guarantee methods for IT strategy implementation are proposed. This study of IT strategy planning for city Y bank revealing problems, figuring out goals and defining routes, will promote scientificity for IT development of city Y bank and supporting ability for business development. Meanwhile, the reasoning segments will be worth of reference for the similar regional commercial banks.
