For all R&D enterprise, new product development is a very important issue, which plays a vital role in the development of the business. In the speed-oriented competitive environment, the life cycle of new products is being shorter and shorter, the personalized demand of customers is increasing, the delivery cycle is greatly shortened, which would make the enterprises produce high-quality products as soon as possible, to meet the changing needs of customers and prevent the threat of.competitors. Efficient development of new products depends on the quality of new product development team. Relying on common teams to accomplish new product development will lead to inefficient. The cross-functional team is the best mode for making new product development quickly. The member selection decides the level of team performance directly, which determines the ability of the team to complete tasks efficiently. In that case, member selection is very important in cross-functional team forming of new product development.This paper based on the research results, researchs the member selection of cross-functional team in new product development. The contents of this paper are as below:(1) This paper simply states the advantage of cross-functional team and the necessity of team forming in new product development. The analysis carries on the necessity of member selection and the problem which need to be solved.(2)The summary of related literatures. This paper summarizes the literatures on new product development team, cross-functional team and team member selection.(3)The method of cross-functional team member selection in new product development based on the contribution degree. First, it describes the problem of cross-functional team member selection in new product development and gives the symbol definition and description. After that, it gives the representation of member’s contribution to team with various forms of information, which are value-based, language-based and sequence-based. Finally, a method of member selection is given. In this method, for the member selection problem of various forms of information, a multi-objective mathematical model for maximizing the members’contribution degree is constructed, and the solution is given.(4)The method of cross-functional team member selection in new product development based on bipartite satisfaction degree. In this method, it describes the problem of team member selection based on bipartite satisfaction degree and gives the symbol definition and description. After that, it gives the representation of satisfaction degree. Finally, a multi-objective mathematical model for maximizing the bipartite satisfaction degree of member and position is constructed. Finally, the solution is given and an example is analysised.
