Since the founding of the very first Advertising major in Xiamen University,China’s history of teaching Advertising has been nearly30years. During the30years,the number of universities launching Advertising as a major has been skyrocketing.However, a research which shows the demand for advertising professionals hasexposed the paradox between the supply and the demand. Therefore, where is theproblem? The most direct reason must lie into the education. But we could not justlook at the education system by ourselves. Instead, we need a role model for us toreflect upon ourselves. Undoubtly, it should be the education system of advertising inthe USA. This paper mainly makes a comparison between the advertising educationbetween China and the USA which has produced a lot of ads talents. It both cited andinvestigated the data in regard with the number of institutes having Advertising major,the number of teachers and the class system, etc. This comparison actually mainlyaims to improve China’s education system of advertising. In retrospect, Chinesescholars made a lot of research on China’s educational system of advertising and theUSA’s respectively. But the most direct comparison was made20years ago.Therefore, new comparison between the two countries is necessary, especially whenthe new media’s prevalence has changed the advertising market.
