Evaluation Research On The Circulation Industry Competitiveness Of Nanjing

Circulation industry plays an important role in the sectors of national economy.Without good circulation, production will not be able to obtain sustainabledevelopment. In the modern market economy, circulation determines production.Along with the continuing reform and development of the market economy, thestatus and role of circulation industry has become increasingly prominent and hasgradually grown into the leading industry in the national economy. Meanwhile, thedevelopment of circulation industry is the backbone of urban economic developmentand has made great influence in the city’s economy, employment and regional status.As a center of metropolitan and core city of Yangtze River Delta region, Nanjingplays an important role in bi-directional radiation and the coordinated developmentof regional markets. Circulation industry is a key to achieve this effect. In the"Eleventh Five-Year" period, with the deepening of industrial structure adjustmentand the vigorous development of circulation industry, circulation has been graduallyimproved and has made great progress. However, there are still some shortcomingsneeded to be improved.Based on the above background, a study on Nanjing circulation industrycompetitiveness evaluation is started in this paper. On the basis of previous studies,circulation industry is defined as the whole flow of the circulation industry mainlyincluding commercial, material trade, warehousing, post and telecommunications,finance, insurance and so on.The core content of this paper is established through the scientific method ofconstructing circulation industry competitiveness evaluation index system containing3hierarchical and21individual indicators.12major cities are selected to evaluatethe level of circulation competitiveness, in terms of using factor analysis by2009economic data. In the selected12target cities, Nanjing circulation industry rankedsixth overall level of competitiveness. According to the results, main factorsinfluencing the level of circulation competitiveness in Nanjing is this paper: the lackof investment in fixed assets, the lack of circulation professionals, circulationindustry lagging behind the development of information technology and so on.Finally, the policy to strengthen the competitiveness of the circulation industry ofNanjing is proposed as establishing and improving the industrial policies andregulations, strengthening the cultivation of circulation professionals and activelyimproving IT development.
