Study On The Cultivated Land Changes And Its Driving Forces During The Urbanization Process In Huaihua City

In order to alleviate the contradiction between demand for land and the cultivated land protection in our country’s economic development, the strictest cultivated protection policy is currently implemented in China, which is also an inherent requirement to achieve the sustainable use of our country’s cultivated land. It has much practical significance for the effective implementation of the protection of cultivated land in Huaihua City to research on the changes and driving forces of the cultivated land’s usage in the process of urbanization and to learn about factors that affect land-use change in Huaihua City.This paper can be divided into five chapters. Chapter one is the introduction, including the background, significance, and research progress home and abroad. Chapter two, three and four are focal points of this text. Based on the introduction of natural survey and social economy survey in Huaihua City, using the basic data of cultivated land resources and social economy, it analyzes the relationship between urbanization and cultivated land changes during2001to2010, more over analyzes the trends of cultivated land dynamic change and the main driving forces affecting cultivated land changes. In the Chapter five, the results are summarized and the prospects of the research are proposed, which can be drawn as follows:(1) Cultivated land and per capita cultivated land of Huaihua City decreased on the whole from2001to2010. Study on the relationship between the level of urbanizaton and the cultivated resource in Huaihua City, the analysis shows that the development of city is inversely proportional to cultivated land amount.(2) With the principle component analysis methods and statistical software SPSS18.0, the driving factors of land area change were comprehensively and quantitatively analyzed. According to the analysis results, social development level, population factor, economic development and agricultural industrial structure adjustment are the main driving factors affecting the cultivated land change in Huaihua City.
