An Analysis Of The Evolution Path Of Industrial Clusters From The Global Value Chain

Under the background of accelerated economic globalization, with the deepening of industrial division and more and more intense of domestic and international competition pressure, the individual enterprises tend to hard to survive, so they gather together to form an industrial cluster. Because the industrial cluster has regional limitation, if they want to occupy a large space in domestic and foreign markets, they must work together with each other to achieve a win-win situation that is to join in the global value chain. The industrial cluster is an individual segment of global value chain; different clusters make joint efforts to constitute a complete value chain. Since the19th century, the industrial clusters have shown strong competitiveness, the cluster effect have been paid attention by numerous domestic and foreign scholars long time ago, they always study the industrial clusters from different angles and with different approaches, so the research achievements are too numerous to enumerate. Industrial clusters as a model of enterprise agglomeration, they have demonstrated great economic effect. So the good development of industry clusters as well as their position in the global value chain are good measurement of enterprise competitive power, so the study of industrial cluster, which is the need of the times.IF Industrial clusters want to keep their sustained competitiveness, the fundamental problem is not how many resources they have, but whether they could be better, faster and more effective to access and accumulate the needed resources in the course of their development. They can exchange their needed recourses through the cluster network, this not only maximum the available resources within the clusters, but it also enhance the cluster’s sustainable competitiveness, and the industrial clusters can maintain better development. The main aim of this paper is to study the evolution of Chinese ACG(Anime&Comic&Game) industrial cluster, and take Dalian’s ACG industrial cluster as an example, with small see big, so as to reach a unique evolution path which is fit Chinese ACG industrial cluster. the reasons to Choose ACG industry is not only because of individual interest, but the most important is ACG industry as a part of cultural creative industry, its appearance has deep influence and even changing generations, it has become a indispensable part of teenager’s life. With the need of enhancing culture soft power, the ACG industry is a creative, test technology, clean and efficient capital and technology intensive industry, it will be the most potential industry in twenty-first Century. But from the present industry situation we can see, our ACG industry is still immature, and still in the low-end condition of the value chain, compared with Europe’s and United States’ and Japan’s and South Korea’s high output value, the market of Chinese ACG product is very narrow. The import and export data of recent years shows, our main export markets is Africa and some of the less developed countries or regions, while the main import countries are Europe, the United States and Japan.So if we want to break the polarization between the rich area and the poor area, we must improve the quality of domestic products, enhance the works’original creativeness, and promote the ACG industry’s value chain. So this is also a very important reason to study ACG industry.The paper is mainly divided into five parts. The first part is an introduction, it mainly explains the research background, research purpose and research methods, and briefly discusses the main innovation points and shortcomings. The second part is the summary of the related research, it including the summary of global value chain theory, as well as the study of industrial cluster from domestic and foreign scholars, based on the summarize I understand that, the existing research of industrial clusters are mostly focused on the competitiveness of industrial clusters, regional and value chain upgrading, and the study of the evolution of industry clusters is also not least, but the combination study of cluster network evolution and value chain upgrading is not much, so this paper started to research from this breakthrough point. The third part of this paper is mainly the research design, through the summarize of the model,put forward the structure thought of the model, and present the hypothesis on this basis, that is among the process of cluster network evolution, the cluster network characteristics (concentricity, network density, network range, closeness centrality, cluster coefficient) may present a certain varying pattern. This part also explains the research object, data sources and defines the related variable quantity.The fourth part is the research overview of Chinese ACG industrial cluster, including an introduce of the development of the cluster and its value chain. The fifth part is an empirical research, take Dalian’s ACG industry as an example, select40sample enterprises, and test and verify the hypotheses through descriptive analysis and network characteristics analysis, and come to the conclusion at last. The last part is the conclusion, including the summary of research results as well as the enlightenment, thereby pointed out the development pattern of industrial clusters and the path of value chain upgrading.
