With the global economic integration, the increasingly fierce market competition inChina and abroad as well as various departments is a perfect cooperation and division oflabor, these factors have led to the company managers facing new challenges and higherrequirements, which requires managers to do good team-based efficient cooperation to dealwith the market increasingly severe competition. As a special form of the team, Managersinfluence enterprise decision-making because of their cognitive, experience differences,thereby affecting the company operating performance. Therefore, studying the relationshipbetween the characteristics of managers and company operating performance is veryimportant.Firstly, this thesis reviews and combings the relevant research literature on domesticand foreign relations of the characteristics of company managers and company operatingperformance. Secondly, it introduces the meaning of the characteristics of managers’ layerand method of operating performance evaluation. This thesis analyzes the executivegovernance and the role of this mechanism, the characteristics of managers on theinfluence of operating performance; Then establish the characteristic evaluation indexsystem of the listed company managers from the managers of human capital characteristicsand social capital characteristics, and using the Analytic Hierarchy Process to determinethe index weight; This thesis puts forward the research hypothesis, the establishment oftwo theoretical analysis model; Liaoning Province in2011listed companies as the researchsample data, using the principal component analysis method to determine the operatingperformance evaluation comprehensive score index for be explained variables, thecharacteristics of managers for the explanatory variables, select the size of the companyand the largest shareholder equity ratio as control variable, the use of SPSS17.0.The results show that Liaoning Province, the average age of the managers of listedcompanies, overseas background, occupational background heterogeneity, the average level of education, reputation, previous work experience and honors with companyoperating performance are positively related; Managers term heterogeneity, ageheterogeneity, political association with operating performance are negatively related;Managers team size, education level of heterogeneity and managers qualifications do nothave a significant correlation. Finally, according to the results of empirical research, thisthesis put forward what the main characteristics of managers of listed companies inLiaoning Province should have.
