Material supply system based on mixed model assembly line permanently plays animportant role in the whole automobile production process. It is a complex and preciselogistics supply chain system. Therefore, in this paper, the type of material flow and thepath of material delivery are introduced into detailed researching.According to low efficiency and low division of arrangement, the characters ofdifferent buffer areas were analysed. The key point of analysis focused on the new bufferarea design based on increasing capacity. Then, the chair rearrangement in production issimplified and abstracted into the design of Y buffer area. Finally, a mathematic estimatedmodel is established in terms of the result factor of production utility plus rearrangeefficiency. C++program is compiled to solve this model. Production data is introduced toproof the effectiveness of program. Meanwhile, after comparing with capacity of the otherbuffer area, it turns out that Y buffer area has higher performance.In order to solve the logistics problems in replenishment delay occurred on the side ofautomobile assembly line, storage windows are proposed to replace pervious time windows.In this paper, based on analyzing the JIT material flow of line side, an optimizationscheduling model with storage windows is established by taking the minimum of totaldelivery time as function. A modified particle swarm optimization algorithm (MPSO) isintroduced to solve the model. The result of simulation showed that the MPSO has superiorperformance on the proposed vehicle routing problem with storage windows (VRPSW).Furthermore, it is shown that MPSO is more effective on VRP in terms of hard contracts.In this paper, the buffer area of JIS (Just-in-sequence) parts is redesigned and theoptimized path of material delivery is defined. Ultimately, production logistics automationand production efficiency both have been effectively improved.
