At this point, to introduction of New Productbecomes one of the most important ways to get more Market share and make moremoney. Let’s take a lively example between Apple and Samsung, two giantcompanies in mobile phone filed. In2011and2012, Apple had two kind of NewProduct “Iphone4S and Iphone5, which push Apple as the NO.1company in Mobilephone. Very soon, Samsung had introduced its new “Galaxy series†to fight back.Finally the result is that both Apple and Samsung had beat Nokia and other brand tobecome top2companies in mobile phone filed.F company, which is the world famous Manufacture factory, knows well thathow important of the success of new production build in NPI (New ProductIntroduction) stage. It can bring win-to-win module of business for both F companyand its customers. The one win is for customer: the success of new production buildcan bring them the chance to beat its competition to get more market share and moremoney. The other win is for F company: the success of new production build is avalue added for a manufacture factory and which can bring more customers andorders. But there is lots of risk and challenges in the process of new product build.Not only in index of on time shipment, quality and cost, but also in index of designfor Manufacture, which be shorten as DFM. How to manager new product build as aprogram? How to use the thinking way and methurd of Program Management to treatnew product build and make it success? These are the key points in my researchbelow.My paper is to study the program management in the process of New productintroduction in F company. The process cover from the very beginning of productdesign, BOM to the preparing the new product introduction, then to the first ofsample build. It also cover finding the problem or bottleneck in sample build, finding ways to fix them and verifying the result. Finally, if the index of product build canmeet target, product can pass the new product introduction stage and transfer to Massproduction stage. Which means the program come to end successfully. So my paperfollows this. In Capater1, there list the background and current research result. Incapater2, based on current process of new product build, we failed in1stsample build.Here find out the root cause of failure and find ways to fix them. In capter3, pick upthe most critical corrective actions for cost, quality, UPH, DFM and on time shipment.Use them in2ndsample build. In capater3, we compare the2ndsample build result tothe first one to verify the result. Finally the Key Performance Index meet the goal andS product passed in New Product build and transfer to Mass production buildsuccessfully. |
