In recent years,driven by 5G demand and bandwidth growth,optical communication products are expected to achieve a compound growth rate of 14% in 2020,but with the gradual breakthrough of technical barriers,industry competition is becoming increasingly fierce.As a leading optical communication company,S Company has experienced an unprecedented impact on its industry position.Therefore,S Company decided to introduce a strategic program management model to support the development of a product development strategy.However,in the process of using standard procedures to promote program management,problems such as program schedule management out of control,and low achievement of strategic objectives are more prominent.Therefore,here comes the strategy program management process improvement of the optical communication product research and development.As an essential multi-program management tool,program management is one of the emerging management technologies that attracting the international academic community.This paper systematically expounds the core concepts of program set management and the main research results at home and abroad,and studies the classification of program sets,analyzes the program set management and related theories,and provides a theoretical basis for the process improvement management plan;Based on the analysis of current situation problems,countermeasure solutions,optimization process construction and actual utility verification in the program management process activities,the practical issues faced in the optical communication product development program management process were thoroughly studied and the following Research results:(1)Analysis of the status quo of the management process of S Company optical communication product development strategy program.This paper used the SIPOC(supplier-input-process-output-customer)high-order process model to sort out the current process status,and described the status quo around the five process influencing factors.Finally,the root cause analysis of the process problems are analyzed from the two aspects of the program lifecycle and strategic alignment management.(2)S Company optical communication product research and development strategy program management process improvement.Via the construction of the SIPOC target model,this paper applied the program management theory as a guide and combines some core concepts of integrated product management.Based on the actual process implement,an integrated process improvement plan is developed,including followings: Improvement of the program process lifecycle,strategic program management support organization,development of strategic communication,and decision-making system.(3)S Company optical communication product research and development strategy program management business workflow construction.According to the SIPOC process model,the program management standard is taken as the benchmark,combined with the actual management status,the process lifecycle architecture is improved,the stage division,and responsibility definition are defined,the program lifecycle and strategy alignment are unified.To manage the activity configuration,and complete the new business workflow finally,then output a general flow chart and activities checking list.
