The program timing management plays an important role in auto R&D programs since almost all local auto programs not only take a long time & huge investment but also face uncertain risk. Data showed that almost 70% of SGM programs meet timing risk & need compress the work to adjustment. Program team do meet need to enhance the ability of program management by timing management theory.This paper analyzes the status of S program`s timing management. Making the China unique activity such as OTS build, change request & unofficial lifecycle plan management as the research object and then start study to increase timing management efficiency & reduce cost as below showed,S program timing management status analysis, summary the request & main issues on S program. OTS build is the main study item since it is the most important & China unique activity. At the same time also study change request management & lifecycle plan to reduce the negative impact on S program timing management.Critical chain identify & PF design, analysis OTS build timing request & study the root cause & improve the timing management through introduce critical chain to break down OTS build,identify critical chain & set PF.Decision tree analysis on timing change request control, analysis the issue & timing impact in current program change request management, reduce the negative impact on timing management by introduce decision tree to reduce change request`s quality & improve the quality.Study result showed that combine critical chain methods & change request could effectively improve local vehicle program`s timing management level, increase the on time rate of main program timing as well as whole lifecycle timing by decrease the timing delay possibility caused by China unique activity & frequency change request.
