The Chinese economy has grown enormously during the last few decades. The size of its consumer market has expanded rapidly as well. A growing middle class paves the way for western non-necessity goods. Among those goods is wine.Wine companies from all over the world are flocking to China demand for the raises. This paper intends to examine the wine market in China, with specific focus on Shanghai. The data collected in this thesis have been collected using a qualitative method and is more ethnographically oriented data. The purpose of the data is to give an overview of the wine market situation in shanghai. This is in order to find the perfect location for a wine store in. By using classic location theories such as Hoetelling, Reilly’s law of gravitation and the Nash equilibrium to define the right location choice for a wine store in Shanghai. |
