"Low-Carbon" was the one of ten media’s hot words in2010. After that, the concept of "Low-carbon" kept on expending, which produced a lot of new vocabulary, such as:low-carbon economy, low-carbon production, low-carbon consumption, low-carbon life, low-carbon cities. Low-carbon supply chain also belonged to the extension of the concept of low-carbon, combined by the green supply chain and low-carbon concept. Today, the world needs low-carbon, China also needs low-carbon. To face theincreasing CO2emission and increasingly severe climate diplomacy, China’s12th Five Year Plan for National Economic&Social Development sets specific targets for national efforts to reduce CO2emissions relative to economic growth. It aims for energy consumption per unit of GDP to be reduced by16%and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per unit GDP by17%by2015relative to2010levels. Low-carbon is no longer a concept, which is regarded as a business opportunity, a kind of revolution. Retail enterprise has quietly on the low carbon competition. From the media we can see the new of the low-carbon supermarket everywhere, and allof the big retail enterprise hopes to be low carbon era of leaders. If retail enterprise only do well in own carbon emission, it will be not enough. Because only8%of the emissions come from their own businesses, but the rest of92%emissions belong to their suppliers. The competition of the low-carbon is not only the enterprise competition, but also the competition of the Supply Chain Management.Low-carbon supply chain management just to appear in Supply Chain Managementfield, but it already aroused widespread interest. In order to avoid the low carbon supply chain management became a concept in China.Firstly, we discuss that the retail business was the key of the low-carbon supply chain management in China, through by illustrating research background, research status and the thesis framework.Secondly, we analyse the difference of Supply Chain Management through by contrasting the Wal-Mart between Vanguard, and take the answer from the profit distribution, information asymmetry, game and trust and the scale benefits, etc. Finally, to summarizing the successful experiences of Wal-Mart’s low-carbon supply chain--that are making low carbon suppliers, low carbon supermarket, Low carbon marketing and Efficient logistics management system, which we hope could give the right experience for the retail enterprises in China.
