| The inputs and consumptions of farm procuction had been changing slightly from1912to1949in North China. Part1, irrigation work, Quantities of resources and effort had been put into the construction of irrigation work after the drought in1920s. The government and non-government organisation had began to focus on the fundamental measures. Therefore the construction of irrigation work stepped into a new era. There were two new phenominons:Fist, the number of agricultural irrigation wells was increasing year by year.second, people began to dredge the canals, so the avail area was increasing year by year. In addition, there are some commercial water stock company appeared in Hebei province, forming a new model of irrigation development. Part2, the develop of farm implements. The implements used by the farmers still stay at the traditional level. The technology to make the implement was backward.the material of most implements were changing from wood to iron. Some of the new implements were adopted by farmers, but not popularied. So the impact on the reform of agricultural implements is very limited. Some people had egan to use the new fertilizer, but most people still sed the manure-based fertilizer. The farm is still short of livestock, especially large livestock. However, the distribution of livestock was fair, and it would be not good for the agricultural development. Part3, household consumption, the inspection from closthing, food to housing indicated that farmers were still only at the subsistence level. Subsistence food consumptiond accounted fo the absolute proportion, the cost of entertainment, education, health was very limited.because of the poverty and lacking of funding, it is too difficult to improve the technology of the implements. so the result is that the farm implements, fertilizer, irrigation and liverstock can’t be improved,and it is not good for the agricultural development. |
