Since the1980s, with the arrival of the economic globalization, transnationalcorporations(called TNC for short) plays an more and more important role inpromoting economic development of the world. In order to adapt to the trend ofeconomic globalization, rapid technology development led by the development ofinformation technology and the sharply shortened products life cycle, there are moreTNCs coporating with each other by constructing strategic alliances which haveorganizations between markets and enterprises.By doing that, they can share theirresources and risk. Based on the reality, it’s very useful to study the stability ofcross-board strategic alliances and that would be favor of using strategic alliances forenterprises to participate in the fierce global competition. The paper reviews the latestresearches both of home and abroad.Combinating with the resource-based theory, transaction cost theory, and value chain theory, this paper uses game theory as a tool toanalyze stability of cross-board strategic alliances deeply. Lastly, some suggestions aregiven about how to establish stable cross-board strategic alliance. The innovations of this paper are as follows.First, the author contructs a unionstability game model of TNC(called USG for short) by refining Cournot model, usingprisoners’ dilemma to get Nash equilibrium and combinating Trigger strategy and HPSstrategy. There are also some variable adjustments are made by introducing twoinvariables which are the investments of the union and the change of product unit costduring using Cournot model.Second,by applying model of USG into analyses of strategicalliances stability, the author summarizes some revelations and makes somerecommendations from the aspects of enjoying a close membership, integratingorganizational resources and optimizing information’s disclosure. There are also actualsuggestions which can be alternative are given for Chinese enterprises to constructcross-board strategic alliances.
