At present, the global economy has entered the era of knowledge economy, in which knowledge resources has become an important factor of production. For the whole society, it can effectively promote the social and economic development. It is due to its positive role in the socio-economic development, intellectual property rights has an important position in the era of knowledge economy; furthermore, effective intellectual property protection has great significances on the foreign investment, foreign trade and technological innovation of a country or a region. This paper intends to use the theory of economic growth and protection of intellectual property rights. With the theoretical analysis and empirical model study, the paper analyses the three effects mechanism of intellectual property system and economic growth. Combining foreign-related research and the classic model with the actual situation of Fujian Province, the paper explores the interaction between intellectual property protection and FDI, international trade and technological innovation, in order to reveal the complex relationship between intellectual property rights protection and economic growth, and finally it conducts the empirical verification with the relevant data in Fujian Province.The three approaches to economic growth:foreign investment, international trade and technology innovation have been playing an important role in the process of Fujian economic growth, while the intellectual property protection has a positive impact on these three approaches to promote economic growth in Fujian Province. Therefore, on the basis, the paper put forward the countermeasures and suggestion on how to promote sustained economic growth through intellectual property protection.
