| Plywood is one of the earliest origin and most extensive use of wood-based panels in human history. In the late1990s,with the development of China’s real estate and releasing of the market capacity of furniture manufacturing and architectural decoration, plywood industry gradually expands its domestic demand market. Coupled with the rich in cheap labor,China’s plywood industry develops very rapidly and becomes the world’s plywood production,consumption and import and export superpower in2004. While our country’s plywood industry is growing continually in the scale and yield, the international competitiveness has started to decline and some problems have risen, such as shortage of resources,technological innovation,product quality, national standards, the appreciation of the RMB exchange rate, as well as trade barriers and other domestic and international constraints of the environment and elements. So China’s plywood industry begins to face serious challenges. This paper focuses on how to break the existing development bottleneck and promote the international competitiveness of China’s plywood industry, and will discuss it from the following seven chapters:The first chapter is an introduction, mainly including the research background and significance of this paper, the research status at home and abroad, research objectives〠contentã€method and technology roadmap.The second chapter is the theoretical basis part, containing the definition of the industrial competitiveness and Porter’s "diamond theory" model, and the industrial international competitiveness evaluation system about six analytical index and five revealed index.The third chapter first analyzes the production and trade situation of world plywood industry, and then select the productionã€import and export trade volume between1991to2011and analyzes the changes.The fourth part is for the international competitiveness evaluation, adopting five indicators to make an in-depth quantitative comparison of China to Malaysia, Indonesia, Russia and Finland respectively, and pointing out the competitiveness of China’s plywood industry trend.In the fifth Chapter, we use Porter’s "Diamond Theory" to analyze the six aspects that affect the international competitiveness of Chinese plywood industry, and then find out the key factors.The sixth chapter is for the empirical analysis part, using the AHP to analyze the factors than affecting the competitiveness of China plywood industry empirically.The seventh chapter illustrates the conclusions and suggestions. According to the theory and empirical analysis of the previous chapters, it summarizes the brief research findings in full text and puts forward five major suggestions and strategies of Chinese plywood industry, which points the way to marketization and internationalization for Chinese plywood industry. |
