Study On Corn Price Fluctuation And Its Influencing Factors In Jilin Province

Agriculture is the foundation of the national economy, and food, in relation to the entire national economy development, as well as social stability and order, is the top priority of the agriculture. The grain problem is not only the economic problem, but also a political question, just because of this two reasons, the Chinese government has always attached great importance to the root cause of the problem of agriculture, and as the key to food, each fluctuation of food price affects hundreds of millions people’s heart.Due to its own advantage, corn has the longest prolongation of industrial chain in all grain crops, moreover, corn is the strategic food, as a result of its production, processing, distribution and trade running through primary, secondary and tertiary industries. As the fodder crop, corn is the foundation of the development of animal husbandry; as processing of raw materials, corn is the important material guarantee both for the food processing industry and the development of biological energy. Due to the geographical advantage, China’s important commodity grain production base locates in the northeast; Especially in Jilin province, as the important food crops, corn plays an important role in farmer’s income, therefore, corn price fluctuation directly influences the vital interests of the corn farmers, and indirectly impacts on the development of corn processing industries in Jilin province.The price fluctuation of grains is so closely related to people’s life, and in China, Jilin province plays the part of major corn grain producing areas and important corn processing industry base, and specifically, corn price fluctuation is a matter of corn farmers’income, of the cost of corn processing enterprise, of the economic level across the province. Regarding the development history of corn industry in Jilin province and current situation as the background, this paper emphatically studies the situation and trend in corn price fluctuations of Jilin province, in order to delves into the formation mechanism of corn price,the internal transmission mechanism and external impact theory are introduced to the thesis, and then we study the main influence factors which give rise to corn price fluctuations, accordingly, the paper puts forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.The first part of this paper is an introduction, this part mainly makes an detailed study on the purpose and the background of the paper, and then reviewed the main research results at home and abroad, aiming to highlight the rationality of the subject and the important significance, at last, briefly put forward the object, content and the method of this paper. The second part, including the second chapter and the third chapter, this part firstly does a comprehensive analysis on the development of the corn industry of Jilin province, and then focus on corn price fluctuations in Jilin province, does a descriptive statistics on the general characteristics, and at last, we make an analysis and forecast on the general trend of corn price fluctuations.The third part, namely chapter4of this article, we make use of the genetic theory-the internal wave transmission and external drive theory, respectively from maize crop growth cycle, the supply behavior of producers, the production cost and the distribution of interests on industry chain, natural disasters, international market, macro policies, substitute price, income etc, to do a detailed analysis on the formation mechanism of corn price fluctuations.The fourth part, namely, the fifth and sixth chapter, making use of the multiple linear regression model, we do a regression about corn price fluctuations step by step, and obtain the main influence factors. Finally, we make a summary and reach a corresponding conclusion, and simply put forward some policy and suggestions.
