The Development Of Knowledge-intensive Producer Services In Hangzhou City

Inspired by the theory of industrial economics, based on industry high-end development trend of world economy and the China’s eastern region to actively develop the service industry, combined with the current industry restructuring and upgrading, this paper argued that the development of knowledge-intensive producer services is very important to its industrial restructuring and upgrading, from the view of Hangzhou as the regional economic center in South wing of the Yangtze River Delta. Therefore, this study on the development of knowledge-intensive producer services in Hangzhou City would be divided into the following five section.First, literature review of knowledge-intensive producer services at home and abroad. This article reviewed the related studies of producer services, including producer services concepts, classification, and found documents differ on whether the definition of producer services at home and abroad, in particular on the extension of study with more differences.Second, the paper defined the connotation and denotation of the knowledge-intensive producer services industry. By drawing on the concept of knowledge-intensive business services, this article would define knowledge-intensive service industries as more productive use of human capital and productive enterprise service-oriented industry. Combined with the actual development and development planning in Hangzhou, this article would define the knowledge-intensive producer services in Hangzhou as the five specific industry, etal. software development services, enterprise high-end financial services, technology consulting services, modern high-end logistics industry.Third, based on the second part and the survey of the status quo of knowledge-intensive producer services industry in Hangzhou, this paper found that there are certain advantages and disadvantages in the development of knowledge-intensive producer services industry. The benefits include:total size reached a higher level in China, industry structure more reasonable, the emerging knowledge-intensive service industry developing rapidly, especially in software development services, a batch of key enterprises and the formation of a certain leading role. The disadvantages include:the proportion of the total service sector declined, uneven development among five sub-industry, talent constraints significantly, the distribution and development of urban irrational, fatigue development in small enterprise, lack of high-end logistics enterprises.Fourth, learned from overseas development. Through the case study about the foreign and domestic development of knowledge-intensive producer service industry, this paper selected Shanghai, Hong Kong and South Korea as a comparative study of the object, analysized the development path and the experience of the selected region, and provided a reference and inspiration for the development of the industry in Hangzhou.Fifth, combined with the summary of the research on current situation and advanced experience, based on the reality of Hangzhou, this article proposed countermeasures of the development of knowledge-intensive producer services in Hangzhou, including construction of regional policy environment, regional support system construction, formulation of industrial development planning, talent strategy development and implementation, to promote formation of industrial clusters and other through business introduction.Although this study for the Hangzhou, there are some inspiration for the development of knowledge-intensive producer services in other cities in China.
