Evaluation And Analysis Of Urban Competitiveness In Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone

The city is a regional business card. As the regional representatives of political, economic,social, cultural and other aspects, the city’s overall competitiveness is the prerequisites of theresponse to the region’s future development direction and the overall positioning.Comprehensive assessment of urban competitiveness is the premise of the city developmentand positioning.In2011, the State Council has approved the development plan for the Shandong PeninsulaBlue Economic Zone on1st of January, which the construction of the Shandong Peninsula BlueEconomic Zone is upgraded into a national strategy, and become an important part of nationalmarine economic development strategy and regional coordinated development strategy. Atpresent, the blue economic zone is in the crucial phase of urbanized development, economydevelops unceasingly, urban competitive power promotes continually. How to evaluate city’scomprehensive competitiveness properly in the area, in order to enhance the overall strength toa greater extent has become an urgent problem.By combining the knowledge of regional economics, statistics as well as other relatedfields, the thesis makes a specific analysis on urban competitiveness via the year-to-yearcity-to-city comparison. The strategies for how to improve the urban competitiveness ofShandong Peninsula blue economic zone are also presented in the article on the basis of cityrankings, development trend and Influence factors.This paper mainly from the following these aspects:First, for the sample to seven major prefecture level city in Shandong Peninsula blueeconomic zone， includes Qingdao, Yantai, Weihai, Rizhao, Weifang, Dongying and Binzhou.Introduce their natural cultural, economic overview, advantages and inferiorities of citycompetitiveness.Second, through the finishing city development statistical indicators from2005to2009,using statistical analysis tools SPSS16.0and7cities in Shandong Peninsula blue economiczone of the measure index as a sample, I select18indexes as the ultimate study indicators;using factor analysis method, rank the competitiveness situation for each year of the seven cities. By the determination results, city competitiveness rankings change was not significantly.Qingdao city competition ability is the strongest, Binzhou, Rizhao city competition ability arethe weakest.Third, longitudinal compared urban competitiveness among the cities of ShandongPeninsula blue economic zone from2005to2009using the method of factor analysis. Theurban competitiveness growth ability of Weifang is the strongest, which of Binzhou is theweakest.Fourth, find out the main effecting factors of urban competitiveness among the cities ofShandong Peninsula blue economic zone using the method of gray correlation analysis.Economic strength, degree of internationalization, technology talent level is the main effectingfactor.Finally, through the main effecting factors of urban competitiveness, I forward to therelated countermeasure about promoting the competition ability of Shandong Peninsula blueeconomic zone, to improve certain basis for the decision of government and relevantdepartments.
