Sustainable land use is the current domestic and international hot topic in landscience discipline research, and is an inevitable choice under population, resourcesand environment pressure in the accelerating period of urbanization andindustrialization. This paper summarizes the domestic and international theory,method and technology of sustainable land use evaluation, constructs the sustainableland use evaluation index system from4aspects of the land (natural) resources,economy, society and eco-environment, taking Jiyuan city as an example, evaluatessustainable land use system and its subsystem, applying principal component analysis,entropy method and a multi factor comprehensive evaluation model. And theevaluation results: from1999to2008, the scores of Jiyuan sustainable land useevaluation is1.46094in1999, the lowest point1.15201in2003and the highest point2.85061in2008, the overall situation rose with fluctuations; the scores of the land(natural) resource subsystem is the lowest point1.33239in1999, the highest point3.69077in2006, fluctuate in2007, and pick up3.57941in2008; the scores of theeconomic subsystem rise continuously from the lowest point0.88813in1999to thehighest point3.78590in2008; the scores of the social subsystem rise continuouslyfrom the lowest point2.17362in1999to the highest point4.15081in2007, andfluctuate to3.74354in2008; the scores of the eco-environment subsystem is1.40493in1999, the lowest point1.30424in2002, and rise continuously the highest point3.27673in2008, the overall situation fluctuate in the early and rise continuously inthe mid to late.The analysis to the evaluation results is the important means to grasp theresearch object’s law. The author analyzes the evaluation of results, using dynamictrend method, curve regression method and the coupling degree model. The analysisresults show that: sustainable land use system and its subsystem for annual series withcurve regression relationship based on the different equation model; there is couplingrelationship between any two subsystems, this relationship can show their stage ofdevelopment through the calculation of coupling degree: from1999to2008, thecoupling degree between land (natural) resource subsystem and economic, social,eco-environment subsystem at-90°to0°, and their stage of development are in theinitial symbiosis stage; the coupling degree between economic subsystem and social,eco-environment subsystem, social subsystem and eco-environment subsystem all at0°to90°, and their stage of development are in the stage of harmonious development.After the analysis to the results, the author proposes some countermeasures andsuggestions.
