Z Company Supplier Quality Management System Study

This article analyzes Chinese automotive industry development situation and the competition among the automotive supply chains which caused by the competition faced by the OEMs. Emphasize the importance of quality management inside the automotive components suppliers to OEMs and automotive industry continuous development.Through studies the quality management theory, automotive industry quality management system TS16949and project quality management theory, especially uses the APQP and PPAP procedures to improve the supplier new project development management to ensure the product quality under control after SOP. This article explores the issues existed in the current supply quality management system by analyzing the Z company supplier management situation. Optimizes Z company supply quality management system, emphasizes the importance of supplier selecting and new project development phase tracking at supplier. Emphasizes the product quality depends on product design quality and process development quality. In SOP phase uses the supplier management system to collect the on time delivery, accuracy, PPM KPIs to evaluate the supplier monthly performance. Also uses the supplier quality issue tracking system to follow up the supplier quality issue solving progress. Improve the weak suppliers by onsite coach to protect Z company and its customer by using the short-board theory. This article also shows some best experiences after optimized the Z company supplier management system and give some useful proposals to the automotive companies about how to manage their suppliers.
