With the rapidly expanding of urban resident population size, especially in cities across the country to enter a new round of rapid expansion, making the number of villages in the city to attack the city a significant increase.Although these "urban village" in industrial structure, space environment and settlement pattern and the City "shape", but it is in terms of the city’s image, social security, the human living environment, land use pattern are out of tune with the harmonious development of cities has become shackles of urban development. The rapid growth of the number of villages has been troubled by the development of the city, affect the social stability and hinder the composition of a harmonious society. Village transformation is imminent. However, due to the different villages in the city, its geographic, demographic, background and other factors are different, which led to the "village feeling" vary widely, making the transformation must take account of the concept, benefits, and management aspects of the situation. How to correctly understand the villages in this issue, how to effectively transform villages, has become also a problem in front of the local government.This paper aims to understand the formation mechanism of the villages, the transformation model, as well as the theoretical basis, focusing on the transformation of villages in the land use issues, to build the comprehensive evaluation index system on the villages of the land intensive use potential evaluation, exploration can be fully tap the intensive use of land potential for the transformation of villages mode to provide theoretical support and policy reference, the effective implementation of the transformation of villages, to improve the level of intensive use of land."Villages" is a unique dual economic and social system and cultural background, in the urbanization process accelerated dramatically under the new situation of urbanization, although it will eventually toward extinction, but it will at a certain exist in different forms within the time span, we must be careful to correctly deal with the issue.
