A Study On Enterprises’ Environmental Behaviors And Influencing Factors In Eco-industrial Parks

Many countries have introduced the industrial ecosystem theory and built eco-industrial parks to reduce the conflict between economic growth and environment protection since1990s. There are many successful examples of eco-industrial programs in China. But there are also a series of problems to be solved. Enterprises’environment behaviors, as the key role of eco-industrial parks building, are important factors to promote the healthy development of eco-industrial parks. As a result, it is meaningful to study the influencing factors of enterprises’environment behaviors and analysis how to control these factors which can promote environment behaviors to make eco-industrial parks’development healthy in China.After analyzing the current situation of eco-industrial parks, this dissertation puts forward the initial idea of the research. Based on the summary of literature review on eco-industrial parks in China and abroad, it proposes the research concept and the theoretical frame work. According to the theoretical framework, the questionnaire is designed on the basis of experts’opinions and enterprises’managers’description. As the data collection has been completed, statistical package of social science (SPSS17.0) is used as a tool for data analysis. Main factors of enterprises’environment behaviors and influencing factors are identified with the results of exploratory factor analysis of the data. The sensitiveness of enterprises to influencing factors and current level of their practices are examined according to descriptive statistical analysis and comparative analysis. Then the relationships between enterprises’environment behaviors and influencing factors are studied by using the correlation analysis. Next, it is further studied on the influencing patterns and extents of influencing factors in accordance with the results of the regression analysis. It proves that information resources and technology resources, laws and green supply chain management have positive impacts on enterprises’environmental behaviors while governmental support has no significant impacts on enterprises’environmental behaviors. At the end of the dissertation, some suggestions are provided in the dimension of law, economics, technology and ability building. Results indicate the governments are supposed to strengthen laws and regulations. What’s more important, it should provide economic and technology support to help and inspire enterprises’behaviors. As for the industry, they would promote themselves in technology and ability to make the behaviors efficient. This thesis develops the influencing factors model of enterprises’ environmental behaviors through the complicated environmental behavior theory as well as its measurement, which can provide theory tools for other research. At the same time, it reveals the relationship between enterprises’ environmental behaviors in eco-industrial parks and its influencing factors by descriptive statistics, comparative analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis, which provides an analysis tool and theoretical reference for promoting enterprises to implement environmental behaviors effectively.
