The Research On The Impact Of Sci-tech Support Ability To The Modern Service Industry

The concept of Modern Service Industry was put forward on the15th convention ofthe CCP for the first time. The Modern Service Industry is named Knowledge-basedService Industry abroad, which reflects the importance of knowledge in the developmentof the Modern Service Industry. Knowledge embodies in the form of science andtechnology, and in the field of Economics, it is called Sci-Tech Support Ability. TheSci-Tech Support Ability of the Modern Service Industry not only improved the ModernService Industry, but also enhanced the technological level of the manufacturing industry,as a result, it promoted the upgrading of China’s industrial structure. This thesis will studyon the Impact of Sci-Tech Support Ability to the Modern Service Industry, and establish aneconomic model for this purpose.The thesis is composed of5chapters. Chapter1is the introduction, firstly,itintroduces the background and significance of the research; secondly, it studies theliteratures in relevant fields, and lays a good theoretical basis for further research; thirdly, itputs forward the research methods as well as the innovation points and difficult points.Chapter2will give an overview of the Modern Service Industry and the Sci-TechSupport Ability. This chapter includes2parts: the first part will clarify the concept of theModern Service Industry as well as its characteristics and its current situation in17provinces&provincial cities.The second part will clarify the concept of the Sci-TechSupport Ability&the Sci-Tech Support System, and then measure them in4aspects.Chapter3is the theoretical study of this thesis, which is divided into2parts. The firstpart will define the composition of the Sci-Tech Support System, the Sci-Tech SupportSystem defined in this part is made up of4parts:(1)funding of science and technology,(2)human capital,(3)information technology and (4)intellectual property protection. Thesecond part will study on how the Sci-Tech Support System affect the modern serviceindustry in the4aspects of the Sci-Tech Support System: Funding of science andtechnology, human capital, information technology and intellectual property protection.Chapter4is the empirical study, which includes2parts. The first part will be a panel data analysis which studies the impact of Sci-Tech Support Ability to the Modern ServiceIndustry. The second part will use Wal-mart’s example to demonstrate the impact ofSci-Tech Support Ability to the Modern Service Industry.Chapter5, the last part, contains the conclusions and policy recommendations, whichsummarize preceding parts, and come up with policy recommendations in4aspects:Funding of science and technology, human capital, information technology and intellectualproperty protection.
