Since thirty years of reform and opening up, the scale of Chinese electronic information industry has ranked the first in the domestic industrial sector due to the rapid development. Furthermore, the electronic information industry, which plays an important role in the economic development, the upgrading of industrial structure, the enhancement of national competitiveness, and so on, has become a pillar industry in the national economy. With the trend of economic globalization, the electronic information enterprises in our country need to "go out", expand the overseas market and participate in global competition just for winning more profit. Therefore, it will become the focus of attention that whether the business internationalization enhances enterprise’s comprehensive strength and profitability. Based on the analysis of the relationship between the internationalization and operating performance at the present stage, the purpose of this study is to provide reference for the internationalization of the Chinese electronic information enterprise. In order to study the problem, this paper first introduces the related theories about international management of enterprises, and reviewed the related research on internationalization and business performance; Then, this article analyzed the management status of Chinese electronic information industry from the export trade, development strengths and weaknesses, etc; Next, on this basis this paper built a theoretical model contains the firm-specific advantage (namely R&D, sales, human resources), the degree of internationalization and corporate performance, and put forward hypothesis; Finally, it analyzes the impact of enterprises specific advantages and enterprises internationalization on the business performance of136A-share Chinese electronic information enterprises recorded in Shenzhen and Shanghai stockmarket.Through the empirical analysis, we get the following results:firstly, the relationship between the degree of internationalization and business performance is like a "U" curve. In other words, the corporate performance decreases firstly and then increases as the degree of internationalization increases; When it comes to R&D, sales and human resources which are the proxy of firm specific advantages, the relationship of R&D intensity and business performance is also like a "U" curve. But sales and human resources has no clear relationship with business performance. In addition, the scale has positive influence on business performance; the assets ratio is negatively related to enterprise performance; however, the age has no clear relationship with business performance.Based on the above research conclusion,This paper makes the following proposals. To the governments, we should continue to improve its management functions, and actively guide the Chinese enterprise move towards the internationalization; To the electronic information enterprises, we should take action to improve the business performance from five aspects, namely, formulating the strategy of transnational business, introducing talents, technology innovation and brand building.
