With the development of society and economy, tourism is becoming an important industry in national economic development.In this context,Hexi gradually pays more and more attention to tourism development. The Hexi region is the most suitable place for tourism development in Gansu province. The tourism development in this region is not optimistic, and a lot of problems should be solved in the process.Based on the existing research of the tourism industry of Hexi areas, this thesis analyze the present situation of tourism in Hexi region by three parts. At first the thesis analyzes the tourism resources, the tourism resources of Hexi are characterized by their abundant,high-gradeand uneven distribution features.Then it analyses the environment of tourism development in this region.At present,the people’s living standards is sufficient to support the development of the tourism while the logging developement of the tertiary industry,the fragile ecological environment and the backward infrastructure restrict the development of the tourism.The last part analyses the status quo of development of tourism economic based on the evolution pattern of the whole region by measuring the developmental level of tourism and the tourism dependence tate of Hexi areas. In general,the tourism development in Hexi areas exists some problems,like the unevenly distributed tourism resources in the space,the less of regional cooperation,the destroy of environmental and resources,the rigid image, the backward infrastructure and the shortage of professionals.In this thesis, trying to find out the problems of the different cities in Hexi region,and look for countermeasures to promote the healthy development of the tourism industry in the Hexi areas.
