First, this article introduces current situation, characteristics and problems of international project contract in China, and thus, comes up with a series of countermeasures. Subsequently, combining the international market development trends with the analysis of the key sector during implementing international project, this article further summarizes the major factors that affect the successful implementation of international project. Secondly, it briefs the backgrounds of the Employer and Contractor respectively as well as the initiation of the project.Based on above mentioned theory, this article sheds light on the far-reaching impact of Chinese constructors to the international engineering market and explores a more universal methodology for project management based on practical experience of the bulk earthwork project for a Manganese Ore Mine in South Africa. It makes a specific analysis on the characteristics and difficulties of the project and all aspects of the project management. Besides, it assesses the implementation and effectiveness and analyzes the success and failure of the project. The article also researches and studies the management of the bulk earthwork project from various angles by inviting in the international project concept management, different knowledge systems, management theories and technical methods.By taking a systematic analysis on the models of project management and frontier theories, this article looks for a more optimized ways in managing biding, progress supervision, cost, quality, risk, human resources, communication and contract. It focuses on the exploring practical and efficient management methods to find solutions for initiative in variation and realize cost-effective earned management in real time. It draws on practices and experience so as to accumulate theoretical methods and then test the theory for better use.
