Histogram is one of the most basic maps in exploration and developmentof oil fields, it plays an important role in assist logging staff to makegeological decision. With increasing amount of data, the traditional way ofmanual drawing has been unable to meet the demand of modern business, thedisadvantages such as the time-consuming, difficult to archive, not easy toaccess, lower precision gradually appear. The computer visualizationtechnology, provides a reliable solution for demonstrating the massive datavisually, vividly. For storage, analysis, management logging data efficiently,and make it more convenient to display, query, analysis, output, this papermade a detailed study in logging data visualization.In this paper, the visualization system is divided into four module: datamanagement, histogram production, algorithm for analysis, result output. Indata management module,function of parsing fixed format file such as LasFile has been supported when import or export data, Undo/Redo has beensupported when edit or operator data which has designed base CommandPattern; In histogram production module, head, trace and curve’s model, view,control objects has been separated by MVC framework, objects andcontainers in different levels has been organized based Combination Pattern,automatic histogram drawing has designed base parsing XML file; Inalgorithm for analysis module, key algorithms such as curve-fusion usingautocorrelation matrix eigenvalue method, auto layering using activityanalysis method, layer combine using iterative method, valuation of curves byjudgment curves’ shape; In report output module, output on default format orcustom format and count layering result has been supported.Through the application of the actual logging data and analysis on results,it indicated that system can mapping with import data from several format ofsource file, the mapping efficiency, beautiful degree meet the application requirements. Layering and valuation of logging data run well overall, needvery little manual editing and correction to be perfect, it can provide referencefor the logging staff. Outputting results formatted, will improve theknowledge accumulation for petroleum exploration company.
