Study On Expressway Management Information System Based On GIS

Expressway funding is a larger key infrastructure for a country, and it is an importantsign of the level that the country or the regional’s economy and society have been developed.The administration is an important part of the operation and management of the expressway,while expressway and its supporting facilities are the property of a country, to be protected bythe laws and regulations. The expressway may be in good operating condition only throughthe effective management, and the the expressway economic benefits and social benefits bepossible to fully reflected. Therefore, efficient and reliable information management systemplays an important role in expressway’s safety and reliable operation.The paper is based on the the Xinzheng expressway project, research and develop theexpressways GIS-based management information system. The paper conducted a detailedneeds analysis, combined with ArcGIS, and Eclipse development platform that can bescalable and connected, design and realize the function of the module include the expresswaysinspections information query, expressways inspections information statistics, andexpressways GIS data management.The trial run properly after the expressways management system based on GIS designand realization is finished. The system can be conveniently, timely and interactively provideusers a intuitive and efficient management interface, and greatly improving the efficiency ofthe expressway network in the field of road administration.
