A Research Of The Formation Mechanism And The Implementation Path Of The Marine Industry Agglomeration

Since the1990s, with the rapid development of the world’s marine economy, marine occupies an increasingly important role in the global economy. Along with people and industry gathering to coastal areas, the relationship between human and the ocean is closer than ever. China is a big country with vast sea areas and rich marine sources. In the year of2010, the GOP of Bohai Bay Area, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta reached88%of the total GOP of China and the industry agglomeration level of coastal areas increased significantly. Marine economy is gradually becoming an important part of nation economy and the rapid development of marine economy is becoming an important part of national development strategy.Based on the above reality, this paper dedicate to the research of the formation mechanism and the implementation path of the marine industry agglomeration from the perspective of industry collaboration agglomeration:firstly, discussed the development of China’s marine industry based on the national level as well as the contrast of marine industry status of nine coastal provinces; secondly, estimated the collaborative aggregation among the national marine industry with the modified E-G index, measured the collaborative aggregation level of coastal provinces and proposed the theoretical framework of marine industry collaboration agglomeration; in the end, discussed the mechanism of marine industry agglomeration through empirical demonstration. Through data preparation and empirical analysis, we get the following conclusions:although there is a rapid development of China’s marine industry and the GOP keeps rising, there are still problems such as unbalanced regional development, irrational industrial structure and the less prominent agglomeration effect; collaborative aggregation among the national marine industry grow with fluctuation which correspond with the inner aggregation development of marine industry, knowledge spillovers, industry associations, and foreign direct investment are the effective mechanism of the realizing the marine secondary and tertiary industries aggregation development of China. Given to the above conclusions, we put forward the corresponding recommendations of policy in the last part of the paper to promote the sustainable development of marine industry aggregation of China.
