According to the field investigation, during coal getting process coal face often hasrib spalling happen which with large mining height that serious impact the work of coalgetting and has large hidden trouble of safe. Using synthesis research method, such asthe field survey, laboratory tests, theoretical analysis, numerical modeling, and fieldindustry application, the article preceded in-depth study on mechanism andcharacteristics of rib spalling, combining on field engineering practice. According to the11011wall of no.2coal mine of zhao-gu mechanics behavior and using ‘compressionbar’ theory to establish the mechanical model for rob spalling wall which with greatmining height, and analysis the seasons and characteristics of wall rib spalling. Sortahead mining face to three deformation department, and on the basis of that analyzedthe width of break zone, critical height, the risk for wall rib spalling. A last, given safetymining height’s range. According to the coal-water coupling law and coal seam floodability experimental results design and optimize the coal seam affusion parameters bynumerical simulation analysis method. Aim at mine hydroscopicity cannot coordinatewith the best time of the coal-water coupling law, we add surfactants in water toincrease coal wetting velocity, and the coal surface active experiment results showC12H25NaSO4is the most appropriate sufactant. Research results were applied to practiceat11011workface and achieved good effects. And then take the same method directcoal seam affusion work at1105work face, but due to all kinds of restrictions we didn’tachieved good effects as11011workface.
