With the fast development of the world economy, the demand of energy isincreasing. As one of the commonly used energy, oil resources still occupys thedominant position of the energy consumption and the problem of energy shortage isbecoming increasingly prominent. As a result, as the first process in the petroleumrefining process, the optimization of the atmosphere-vacuum distillation set and itsheat exchange network has grate significance.In this paper, simulation software and Supertarget were used to simulation theatmosphere-vacuum distillation unit process and optimize heat exchange network.Futhermore improvements are proposed. The main work are as follows.(1) Based on the fitting of evaluation dat of Oman, and Hange crude oil, theatmosphere-vacuum distillation unit model ware built with Pro/II. The simulationresults of material balance and product distillation curve and operation condtionsshow good agreement with the actual data.(2)On the basis of fit in the primary process and the actual production,according to the heat exchangers in the actual operation parameters andspecifications, build unit heat exchangers processes. Found to affect the simulationresults due to the heat exchanger fouling resistance coefficient can not be accuratelyestimated, there are some errors, but the results of the key points of the heatexchanger is to meet the requirements, therefore, the use of Pro/II softwaresimulation of heat exchangers network can be implemented.(3) Combined with Pro/II software structures of the heat exchange process,using the KBC company’s heat exchange network optimization analysis softwareSupertarget establish heat exchange network. By reducing the heat transfertemperature difference, increase a minus three lines and3and initial bottom oil inhot heat exchange area is150m2of heat exchanger, improve into atmospheric towerbefore the heat exchange final temperature mention reduce utility consumption,reduce the production cost.
