Automobile lightweight is one of the key technologies of the global automobile manufacturers to achieve the development direction energy-saving, environmental protection and security. The adoption of high strength steel sheets on automobile can achieve not only the lightweight of automobiles, but also the passive safety of automobiles. Hot stamping process of high-strength steel is the latest manufacturing technology combining both traditional hot forging techniques and cold stamping technology. The principle of it is that the special boron alloyed is heated and insubated for a certain time to become a uniform austenitizing and the red-hot sheet material will be quickly transferred by the automatic manipulator to the hot stamping die with cooling system to be stamped into a form. Then the sheet organization will rapidly change into martensite from austenite through quenching. Thus ultra-high strength steel is obtained. On the basis of the domestic existing hot stamping forming process, this paper further studies and discusses the characteristics of hot stamping forming process and studies B-pillar reinforcing plate hot stamping forming by adopting the method of combining numerical simulation with technological experiments. Based on the establishment of digital-analog process, it also proposes and designs a set of hot stamping mould with the cooling system, and states the structure design ideas of cooling system in detail. This paper states the coupling relationship between the temperature field and the stress field of the sheet material during the process of hot stamping through the method of coupled thermo-mechanical finite element analysis and concludes the influence law of initial blank temperature, mold temperature and punch velocity on the forming of hot stamping with considering the cooling rate as one of the important measure index of evaluating organizational form after forming. On this basis, it experimentally studies the formation of hot stamping of the most typical part of B-pillar reinforcement plate and comparatively analyzes the calculated result of numerical simulation. The experiment shows that it is in good agreement with the result of numerical simulation, which demonstrates the feasibility of forming process of hot stamping and provides theory basis for the actual production.
