The emission of greenhouse gas mainly due to global warming. Now every country isworking on the reduction of greenhouse gas emission, and all industries are discussing lowcarbon industry. The process of pulping and papermaking involve many biomass energy,chemical energy and fossil energy, which all these consumptions lead to the emission ofgreenhouse gas,so the world is watching papermaking industry heading for low-carbon. Thelack of forest resource determine that China regard straw as the indispensable papermakingmaterial.This paper choose a40t/d output process line which is typical for its process scale andtechnology as the study object, this representative papermaking enterprise using straw material,evaluate the carbon footprint for the company, finally editing the calculating software. Thesoftware is a method and technology to ensure and measure the carbon emission happened inthe process. The greenhouse gas emission includes: direct and indirect emission. Thiscalculating software supply a scientific basis for studing energy saving and emission reductiontechnology in papermaking.Besides,base on being familiar with the production flow, operationmanagement model of the study object, this paper collect relevant data, then according to theinternationally recognized carbon footprint calculating method made byIPCC,WBCSD/WBI-----GHG Protocal, obey the international leading standard PAS2050, withthe method of life circle assessment, then calculating the carbon footprint, carbon sink ratio ofthe process line, finally, editing a general calculation software of carbon footprint, carbon sinkratio of straw material in papermaking industry.The results were as follows:(1) After a comprehensive research, this paper is the first one to apply carbonfootprintevaluation method into straw material papermaking carbon emission around the world. Thispaper use the method of process analytical approach, base on life cycle assessment, mainlycalculating the emission amount of CO2, CH4, N2O.(2) Determine the carbon flow boundary of straw material produce the bleached culturalpaper under typical process technology and scale is: stock preparing, pulping, papermaking.In the boundary of carbon flow, the typical straw material papermaking creates carbon footprint:34554.1kg CO2-eq./d due to power consumption; carbon footprint:48347.7kg CO2-eq./d due tosteam consumption; greenhouse gas caused by bio-energy don`t increase the greenhouse gas, socarbon emission of bio-energy don`t include in the calculation scope.(3) The carbon footprint of the40t/d process line is82901.8kg CO2-eq./d. that`s to say,every1t paper will cause a carbon emission of2072.5kg. with the help of the carbon flowpicture,the carbon sink ratio of the typical straw material papermaking is0.78,less than1.0.The fixed carbon is less than the carbon discharged to the air. (4) Using visual studio to edit the carbonfootprint calculation software.The result work outby calculation software is the same with the result calculated by manual computation,so thecalculation software has accuracy and project practical applicability.
