Resarch On Rapid Tooling Material Of Resin Matrix

The manufacturing technology of rapid tooling based on the technology of rapidprototyping is one of the most rapid growing technologies in rapid manufacturing. It canmake from product to the design and manufacturing of mold quickly realize, so as toshorten the product development cycle. This paper mainly studies the material ratio ofrapid tooling of resin matrix.First of all, this paper introduces rapid prototyping and rapid tooling.Researching onthe effect of the curing agent, diluent, filler, the size of aluminum powder and curingtemperature on material performance. Thus we conclude the suitable mold material matrixresin, curing agent, diluent, the type of solid filler and researching on the process ofmixing and curing.After that, orthogonal experiment is carried out, where each of E44, E51epoxy resinsis as matrix, the dosage of the curing agent, diluents and filler is as a variable. Through therange analysis and variance analysis, we analyze the effect of the dosage of curing agent,diluents and filler on compression strength, bending strength and hardness. Then we makethe material formulation optimized and have a better performance of the composite mouldmaterial formula combination. Resin E51100g,600mesh aluminum100g,10g reactivediluents butyl glycidyl ether,30g500mesh quartz powder,30g1.5mm chopped glass fiber,defoaming agent dimethyl silicone oil for3g,10g500mesh graphite powder,6g curingagent benzene dimethylamine, curing temperature70℃. At this point, the mechanicalproperties of materials are as follows: brinell hardness, bending strength79.83MPa andcompressive strength134.77MPa. Material performance have reached the requirement ofrapid tooling.
