The mold industry is one of the industries with the highest technical added value, the mold industry has the giant market prospect. The automobile industry is one of the industries on applying the mold, the development speed of the new model of vehicle is limited by the mold processing cycle. In order to enhance product competitiveness, the development and fabrication period of molds and dies must be shorted and the production cost must be cut down. Therefore, the research of the fast manufacture technology method that develops the steel- based ramming mold is an important topic in the Material Forming and Process Engineering field.A method of using arc spraying and rapid prototyping(RP) technology to manufacture rapid tools(RT) is studied in this paper. Through analyzing some technological details in mould manufacturing, we established relevent countermeasures. Through computer aided design(CAD) of mould, the design of RP paper protruding mould, the facture of silicon rubber concave mould, the facture of protruding ceramic mould, arc spraying steel- based ramming mold and other technics processes of rapid prototyping(RP) technology to manufacture rapid tools(RT), we carried through a lot of experimentations and reaserch, and made sure the optimized technics parameter of using arc spraying and rapid prototyping(RP) technology to manufacture steel-based mold.Through contrastive experiment of choosing many oxids to manufacture ceramic mould, Al2O3 ceramic of 325 item has been ensured to make use of raw processed materials. The experiment of the different proportion silicon rubber concave mould of Al2O3 ceramic and sintered process reserch of ceramic mould optimize directions for producing ceramic mould materials and sintered process. Through freezing test, the influence of silicon gel on mould Surface quality and surface defect of ceramic mould is analyzed. Through sintering experiment, the adbesive property of the silicon gel in ceramic mould is tested. Through spray experiment, ithas been proved that the rigidity, wear of 3Cr 13 has satisfied the mould and the arc spraying is a reasonable method for manufacturing steel mould, which can obviously cut down the period and cost of manufacturing steel mould.
