CH4emissions of agricultural sources are the major component of greenhouse gas caused by anthropogenic. In the situation of international community to promote energy conservation, the researching for CH4emissions of agricultural sources is particularly important With economic development, farming and breeding industry is developing rapidly in Jiangsu Province. Following that, the CH4emissions of greenhouse gases has also become a problem of environmental pollution and cannot be ignored. Therefore, understanding the status and characteristics of CH4emissions of agricultural source in different area has important theoretical significance for the management of agricultural production and to formulate carbon emission reduction measures and improve the ecological environment in the future. In this paper, first identify the major sources of CH4emissions in the agricultural production, and corrected a part of the emission factor through the field survey data. And then, researched the CH4emissions inventory of agricultural source in Jiangsu Province from rice cultivation, burning of agricultural wastes (straw), livestock and poultry gastrointestinal tract fermentation and manure management. Through computational analysis the conclusion is as follows:(1) CH4emissions from rice cultivation are the major sources of agricultural emissions; the total emissions reached691.315Gg, which contributed79.67%. Among them, CH4emissions from straw returning were427.027Gg, which contribute about61.77%of the total source emissions; CH4emissions from rice fields with no-straw is less than straw returning, which reached for264.288Gg. The larger cities with CH4emissions from rice cultivation include Huai’an City, Xuzhou, Yancheng and Suqian, emissions were103.202Gg、76.488Gg、74.108Gg and74.069Gg, which together contribute approximately47.43%of CH4emissions from rice cultivation.(2) Animal husbandry is another important source of emissions after rice cultivation, the total emissions reached144.749Gg, which contribute16.68%. CH4emissions from manure management systems are slightly higher than the animal enteric fermentation, the total amounts of them were73.063Gg and71.686Gg, and the contribution for methane emissions of the agricultural source respectively represents8.42%and8.26%. Enteric fermentation methane emissions are mainly located in Xuzhou, Yancheng and Nantong, emissions of22.280Gg、10.190Gg and10.002Gg. The sheep are the major emissions sources for livestock enteric CH4emissions, the total discharge of30.290Gg, and accounting for42.25%. Manure management CH4emissions are mainly located in Yancheng, Xuzhou, Nantong, emitting15.413Gg、11.807Gg and8.858Gg. Pig is the major sources of methane emissions of livestock and poultry manure management, total emission of54.717Gg, and accounting for emissions source by3/4.(3) CH4emissions from Straw combustion are the least one in the four sources of emissions, only3.65%, emitting31.664Gg in2009. Emissions from rice straw burning were the most important emissions sources, which contribute43.04%of the total straw emissions. Wheat straw was slightly lower than rice straw burning, which contribute31.90%. Other straw only contribute25.06%of the total straw emissions. Analysis from the regional distribution, CH4emission of straw combustion mainly concentrated in Subei, accounting57.69%of the computation; emission of straw of Sunan are the smallest in the province, only accounting15.44%.(4) Established methane emission inventory from agricultural source through estimation of source emissions in Jiangsu Province, CH4emissions of agricultural sources in Jiangsu Province reached867.728Gg in2009and there are in the large differences between each city. The cities whose CH4emissions were larger include Huai’an, Xuzhou and Yancheng City, emitting118.481Gg.114.317Gg and105.221Gg, which together contribute approximately38.95%of the total CH4emissions.(5) The average CH4emission intensity in Jiangsu Province reached8.43t·km-2·a-1in2009. The cities whose emission intensity of methane exceeded11t·km-2·a-1include Yangzhou, Huai’an and Nantong, which were11.96、11.76and11.42t·km-2·a-1. Three cities whose emission intensity of methane were smaller inculed Wuxi, Suzhou and Nanjing, which were3.91、3.96and4.71t·km-2·a-1.
