Color is the key factor which is responsible for the consumers’ attention and the purchase of thetextiles. So its effects on the textile products couldn’t be ignored. The application of color, qualitycontrol and communication run through the whole supply chain of textile. In the conventional colormanagement, the color cards, color samples and other entities are used in the management andcommunication of color. But there is still lack of a unified standard on the name of color line, thequality and delivery of color lines are affected. Although the digital expression of the textile colorwas realized, but limited to the difference of test materials (such as fiber material quality, weavingprocess, fabric texture, thickness, etc) and test conditions(such as aperture, test times, etc), theaccuracy of the digital expression of the textile color sample is poor and it affects the colorsample’s accuracy of digital communication on color.Line manufacturing management current on theis real silk yard dye industry is studty on the early time and due to the condition of the silk coloryarn’s small variety and relatively stable results, the color measurement theory is used to study thereal silk color line’s standardized name for color and develop the color yarn’s management system.A set of standard coding system for silk color yarn was established. The system combined thespectral reflectance of the color yarns through attribute formula with color theory into standardencoding. Thus, the color could be accurately located according to the laws of color. And each colorhad a corresponding unique coding. A color management system of the silk color yarns was designedon the basis of excel and VBA technology. So it is possible that the silk color lines can be manageddigitally and the inventory color lines be searched intelligently.The paper primarily consists of the following five parts. The first part introduces the managementbackground of the textile color. The limitation on color digital naming standardization of textile isanalyzed in this part. It is feasibility and significance to put forward to established the colormanagement system of silk.The second part describes the basic properties of the color and analysesthe universally used color systems and coding methods. And analyzing the characteristics andcorrelation of RGB, XYZ, Lab, Lch color space; choosing the Lch color space as that of silk coloryarns; combing the computational formula of color attributes; establishing the standardization codeof silk color yarns. The third section presents the reasons of metamerism and through comparing the characteristics of four chromatism formulas, namely CIE1976Lab、CMC(l:c)、CIE94and CIE2000,CMC was choosed. The silk color yarns were sought based on the minimum chromatism toleranceunder different photosource. Thus, the metamerism of sought silk color yarns was avoided. Thefourth portion analyzes the demand of a silk color lines management system, discusses the feasibilityand functionality, and sets up the data flow and database functional module of the color yarnsmanagement. The fifth section describes the characteristics of excel and VBA technology. What’smore, the module’s establishment and functions of color management system of silk color yarns havea detailedly analysis.The standard coding of silk color yarns standardizes the nomenclature among enterprises,leading a great convenience in communication. It could be the language and tools of color exchangebetween upstream and downstream industry chain, promoting the standardized management. And theestablishment of the silk color yarns color management system made up for the bugs of specialisteyeballing, such as low funding efficiency and huge fluctuation of the results. The practicality of thissystem is good, it fill up the blankness of the software.
