At present, city population is increasing in China, and the economic development andthe level of consumption are improving, the urbanization process is speeding up, thefollowing is an increasing number of urban living garbage. Many big cities had beenbesieged by garbage. urban living garbage if not properly handled, not only pollute theresidents living environment, will directly affect people’s physical health; If urban livinggarbage get scientific and reasonable management, it can be transformed into availableresources. Urban living garbage governance in Guangzhou City has been a problem for a longtime, in recent years the government of Guangzhou City are also constantly improve andperfect the urban living garbage governance system, to change the current situationsof”garbage siege”.In this paper, through literature research, on-the-spot investigation, comparative researchand data analysis and other research methods, analyzes the status quo of urban living garbagegovernance in Guangzhou City, and through the research of the waste incineration powergeneration projects, urban living garbage sanitary landfill capacity and Garbage classificationmanagement practice results, to find out the difficulties and shortcomings that GuangzhouCity is facing. At the same time, through the analysis of the practice of Taipei urban livinggarbage governance, compared to the situation in Guangzhou to give enlightenment, Suggestthe government of Guangzhou should speed up legislation to improve the waste management,form a complete set of laws and regulations and to form a unified administration to improvethe current situation of garbage treatment in Guangzhou by further proceed with the garbageclassification, promoting Guangzhou urban living garbage reduction, recycling andharmless.
