DL411-g-PP and KH570-g-PP were manufactured by means of graft reaction using luminum coupling agent (DL411) and silane coupling agent (kh570) in the paper, which were used as compatibilizers to make into aluminum ester grafted polypropylene reinforced glass fiber composite (DL411-g-PP/GF/PP) and Silane grafted polypropylene reinforced glass fiber composites (KH570-g-PP/GF/PP) respectively. Discussing the effects of the addition of compatibilizer (DL411-g-PP, KH570-g-PP) and the content of GF on GF/PP composites through various measurements, including FTIR, SEM, DSC, heat distortion temperature and mechanical testing, exploring the modification mechanism of Compatibilizer to composites simultaneously. The results of the experiments are as follow:The optimal experimental conditions of fabricating DL411-g-PP compatibilizer system are that reaction temperature is210℃, raw materials ratio is PP:DL411: DCP=100:8:1.2, as a result the maximum grafting ratio of DL411-g-PP reaches to5.5%. The manufacture of KH570-g-PP compatibilizer is that reaction temperature is200°C, raw materials ratio is PP:KH-570:DCP=100:10:1, the maximum grafting ratio of KH570-g-PP achieves7.7%.FTIR analysis demonstrates that carbon-carbon double bonds in DL411and KH570break into single bonds and conduct grafting reaction with PP, which graft to PP molecular chain successfully.SEM images indicate that introduce of the DL411-g-PP and the KH570-g-PP compatibilizer improved the compatibility between the GF and PP, and changed the microstructure of composite materials inordinately.Analysis of DSC manifest that introduction of the compatibilizing agent DL411-g-PP, KH570-g-PP did not alter the crystalline form of the composite materials, crystallinity trend showing increased first and then decreased with increase of the amount of compatibilizer, but trended down as GF content increased.Heat resistance and mechanical properties of GF/PP composites have been improved owing to the joining of DL411-g-PP and KH570-g-PP compatibilizer. When the dosages of DL411-g-PP are8shares, the content of GF is40%, the overall performance of composite materials is the best. Compared to GF/PP composites, distortion temperature increases by14.2%, impact property enhances by262.8%, and tensile strength increases by30.5%. When using KH570-g-PP as10shares, content of GF is40%, overall performance of composite materials is the optimum. Compared with GF/PP composites, distortion temperature increases by10.3%, impact property enhances by252.6%, and tensile strength increases by20.3%. Performances of DL411-g-PP/GF/PP are superior to those of KH570-g-PP/GF/PP composite materials.The pro inorganic group of DL411-g-PP and KH570-g-PP after disposal of NaOH react to form chemical bond with Si(OH)3in GF.Introduction of compatibilizer DL411-g-PP、KH570-g-PP improves phase separation of GF/PP composites section clearly, and enhances interface compatibility of GF and PP.The compatibilizer DL411-g-PP play a good role in compatibilizing of GF/PP composite.Compared with KH570-g-PP,compatibilizing effect of DL411-g-PP is better.
