In recent years, the aluminum honeycomb material have been widely used inaerospace, rail transit, automobile and architecture because of the excellent energyabsorption characteristic. The traditional manufacturing process of aluminum honeycombmaterial have been seriously restricting it’s development for the manufacturing methodcannot satisfy technical requirements of the high strength. The high and new technologyindustry’s demand for high strength aluminum honeycomb is more and more strong. Butdomestic high strength aluminum honeycomb processing technology and correspondingequipment is still blank, and the prices of imported high strength aluminum honeycomb isvery expensive. So developing the high strength aluminum honeycomb automationequipment has great significance.Firstly, based on automatic assembly process, this paper studies the two coretechnology of assembly process. Then analyze the system function of assembly equipmentusing the theory of modern design methods. Determine the total and partial function of theassembly equipment. Evaluate and select the best solution from the preliminary selectionby fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. And verify the core technology of thedecision-making through the experiment.Secondly, design the structure of the equipment and analyze the working principle ofeach module. At the same time, calculate the important parameters of the main purchasedcomponents. The assembly equipment consist of half lattice structure of the aluminum foilconveying mechanism, A/B glue module, rectangular coordinate robot, preloadingmechanism, auxiliary hold-down mechanism and stack mechanism. Furthermore, completethe finite element analysis of key parts through ANSYS. Design the pneumatictransmission of the equipments, and analyze the assembly process of the equipment.Finally, debug the automation assembly equipment of high strength aluminumhoneycomb and do experiment to approve the rationality of the design. Experimentsproved that the assembly technology and assembly equipment have a high practicality, andcan meet the corresponding technical requirements.The research of this paper solve the problem of low strength, bad consistency of traditional manufacture of aluminum honeycomb, which can provide a important referencevalue and guide significance for high strength aluminum honeycomb manufacturing.
