Along with the global industrialization process and energy demand rising, oil spillaccidents take place constantly. It is harmful for the marine organisms and othermarine resources. Oil spill pollution became a global environment problem. How toquickly identify the oil product in oil spill accident is important to confirm oilpollution sources and tale emergent pollution treatment measures.This essay combines real field experiments, computer technology and geographicinformation system to analyze the water samples from Jiaozhou Bay seagoing rivers.The way to come up to identify the oil product quickly and accurately is usingVB.NET, Access2003and ArcGIS Engine9.2to build a management system of oilfingerprint information. This system realizes the function of information management,information query and determination of oil source. The design of this system is basedon measured oil fingerprint data information and actual demand of systemdevelopment. The design of the system makes user interface friendly and logicalstructure clearly. This system has mutual independence models and adapts to labmanagement. The specific conclusions and achievements are as follows:(1)The oil content of Jiaozhou Bay seagoing rivers is biggish. Licun River,Banqiaofang River, Moshui River, Dagu River, Juyang river and Cuoshui river belongto the forth surface water quality. Haibo River and Loushan River belong to fifthsurface water quality. Yang River and Lianwan River are worse than fifth surfacewater quality because of its high oil content.(2) By using multiple comparisonmethod, the oil fingerprint of Banqiaofang River and Lianwan River is similar asYang River and Juyang River’s. The oil fingerprint of Licun River and Lianwan Riveris different from Banqiaofang River and Cuoshui River’s.(3) Database was developedwith Access2003, and the data came from current and historical lab experiments. The system used30characteristic ratio parameters, such as n-alkane, polycyclic aromatichydrocarbons and biomarkers, to avoid the unicity of former spectrogramidentification.(4) Choosing ArcGIS Engine to develop the geographic informationsystem realize the function of map display location and spectrogram display. Itovercomes the limitation of dependence on Desktop and reduces the cost of softwaredevelopment.(5) Importing the object-oriented thinking and analysis method, theutilization of three-tier C/S structure, this system realize the function of informationmanagement, information query and determination of oil source. This essay choosesthe oil fingerprint data of Jiaozhou Bay seagoing rivers to test every model function ofthis system. The consequence of the test shows that this system operates well and hasgood compatibility and a very wide range of adaptability.The design and development of oil fingerprint management system is an importantmethod to confirm the pollution source of marine oil spill accidents. It providesscientific basis to confirm responsibility, solve disputes and evaluate the damage ofenvironmental pollution.
